Read Scripture. Go Deeper. Ask Questions. Take Action.
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Honor should be sincere and not contingent on perfection. It's necessary in our relationships, families, and communities. Honor is real, required, refreshing, and relentless—we are called to consistently value and uplift those around us, reflecting Christ's relentless love and honor towards us.
This message emphasized the importance of giving honor consistently, even when it's challenging. Honor has four key declarations: honor is real, required, refreshing, and relentless. Honor needs to be genuine and its crucial for strong relationships. Even when we don't feel like it or it seems challenging, we should pray for willingness and energy to honor those around us.
• Take some time this week to reflect on how you currently express honor in your daily life. Are there areas where your expression of honor could be more sincere or consistent?
• Identify three people in your life who have significantly impacted you. Take a moment to write them a heartfelt note or message expressing your appreciation and the specific ways they have enriched your life.
