A Mission by Mistake

25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.
Main Idea
- Major mistakes come from following the majority (Acts 27:13-23). Reason and logic are gifts from God, but when He gives you a clear instruction you must listen to Him and not others.
- I don’t need to know why as long as I know who (Acts 27:22-23). God can use anything to achieve his will, but not everything happens for a reason.
- What I go through doesn’t determine where I end up (Acts 28:1-9). What starts out as a mistake can turn into a miracle and then a mission.
God can establish His purpose and use you for his mission even if your circumstances happened by mistake.

Summary
Paul planned to visit Italy after Jerusalem, but was arrested in Jerusalem for allegedly bringing gentiles into the temple, and imprisoned for two years. Acts 27 picks up with Paul as a prisoner on a ship to Rome, where he is allowed to minister to friends despite his captivity. This situation illustrates that being in difficult positions doesn't always result from wrongdoing; sometimes it's due to doing something right. God's will doesn't guarantee smooth sailing, and major mistakes can come from following the majority instead of divine guidance. In Malta, what began as a mistake turned into a mission, with Paul healing many and fulfilling God's purpose.
